Shimokawa: Exchange Through Sightseeing and Dancing - Junior High School Students Visit from Gujo City

A group of 14 junior high school students from Gujo City (Gifu Prefecture), a sister city of Shimokawa Town, visited Shimokawa from January 19-21 and engaged in various exchanges with local elementary and junior high school students. Shimokawa Town traces its settlement origins to April 1901 (Meiji 34) when residents from Takasu Village (now part of Gujo City following a 2004 merger) settled in the Kaminaesoro district. During their three-day visit, the students participated in sightseeing activities and traditional dance performances while discussing the future development of the town with local youth.
