Nayoro Industrial Festival: Local Produce Sales and Diverse Programs Attract Large Crowds; Traditional Mochi Throwing Uses 300kg

The 48th Nayoro Industrial Festival, themed "Mochigome Japan's Best Festival," was held on the 23rd starting at 9:30 AM at Asaeshima Park (浅江島公園) in Nayoro. The event featured sales of locally-produced vegetables and "Akafuku" (赤福), a famous specialty from Ise, Mie Prefecture. Various programs including traditional mochi throwing and stage performances drew large crowds. The festival was organized by Nayoro City, Dohoku Nayoro Agricultural Cooperative, Kamikawa Agricultural Improvement and Extension Center Nayoro Branch, and Nayoro Commerce and related organizations.
