Nayoro Shrine Annual Festival Main Event Features Sacred Palanquin Procession with Traditional Elegance and Enthusiasm

The 'Mikoshi Togyo' (sacred palanquin procession) of Nayoro Shrine Annual Festival took place on the 5th starting at 9:30 AM, with participants dressed in traditional formal attire parading through the city. Young men in happi coats carried the palanquin while raising spirited chants, praying for the peace and safety of households and the community while heating up Nayoro's summer atmosphere. The event was organized by Nayoro Shrine (head priest: Ichizu Marui) and the Nayoro Festival Committee, with food stalls lining Odori Street 3-chome adding to the festive excitement.
