Nayoro Sunflower Festival 2026 Opens; Expectations High for Plant Growth Before Blooming

The 'Nayoro Sunflower Festival 2026' (organized by Nayoro Tourism and Town Development Association) has begun at the sunflower field within the Hokkaido Sunpillar Park (道立サンピラーパーク), running from August 8 to 23. While sunflowers are only beginning to bloom, further growth is expected in the coming days, and organizers are calling for many visitors. A stamp rally event in collaboration with Hokuryu Town (北竜町) is also being planned. The festival traditionally takes place every August and attracts numerous tourists.
