[New Information/Notice] Furigana (Phonetic Guide) to be Added to Resident Registration and My Number Card

Starting May 26, 2025, furigana (phonetic guides) for names will be newly recorded on family registers (koseki), family register attachments (koseki no fushu), and resident registrations (juminyo). The furigana on resident registrations will be recorded based on the furigana of names in the family register. When furigana is recorded in the family register, it will automatically be added to the resident registration as well.
